News from Scotch Plains Friday Night
The Scotch Plains Friday night Lifeline meeting has just received OA’s latest book: “Taste of Lifeline”! This is the only Lifeline OA literature meeting in our Central Jersey Intergroup. “Taste of Lifeline” contains more than 100 stories featuring: personal accounts by OA members worldwide writing about their challenges and how they work the OA program, stories for newcomers, stories about recovery from relapse, and long-term recovery stories, journal questions that support OA’s tool of writing, and “Welcome Home!” OA’s beloved story of outreach to compulsive eaters around the globe. The Scotch Plains Friday night Lifeline meeting runs from 7:00pm – 8:00pm. But we don’t stop there! After the meeting, those who wish to continue in fellowship by “going dutch” enjoying an abstinent meal together with numerous local restaurants to choose from weekly.
Join us for “Taste of Lifeline” at Robert Wood Johnson Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center, 2120 Lamberts Mill Rd., Scotch Plains, in the Conference Room. Plenty of free parking is available. The facility is handicapped accessible. Contact Kathy G. at 908-358-5154 with any questions you may have.
Get the word out! Is your meeting being advertised via your host’s communication media: newsletter, bulletin board, website link? For example, RWJ Rahway, Fall 2015 newsletter, “The Rose”, includes our two OA meetings in their Support Groups column. It reads: “Overeaters Anonymous is a peer-to-peer group for compulsive eating disorders that uses a 12-Step program. The group meets Fridays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 11 a.m. in the RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center Conference Room.” Ask your host how you can spread the word.
Celebrate your meeting’s anniversary date with a special meeting. Download the flyer to find out your meeting’s start date and get help with creating the special event. Celebrate your meeting anniversary
